RESULT: A skimboard that more closely resembles a surfboard. Thicker, narrower, with more rocker, this design is loose and responsive. Excellent for steep beaches with thick, powerful shore break.

This design excels at beaches where there is steep banks and powerful shorebreak. Designed for the wave-riding aspect of skimboarding. But don't be fooled by this description, this design will also work well in pretty much any skimboard condition you can find, from flat water, to as big as you can handle. Very fast and responsive, Maui Skimmers have a few design features that are different from standard skimboard designs.The surfboard-like shape is a very user friendly design that is easy to ride for beginners as well as advanced riders.

The added rocker, or bottom curve resists sticking in the sand and easily rides over any bumps in the sand as well as chop in the water. The added rocker also helps in pulling off steep re-entries and radical maneuvers.

Surfboard style rails also ride right over the bumps making the ride even smoother. Maui Skimmers also have a feature not available on other skimboards, the channel bottom. Unique to Maui Skimmers, the channels are four shallow grooves shaped into the tail that act like the fins on a surfboard, giving more control during hard carves and sharp turns. The channels also help to straighten the board if you happen to throw it on the sand sideways, which is even more user freindly.

RESULT: This design has a more symmetrical outline similar to a wakeboard. More volume and planing surface makes for longer rides and unidirectional maneuvers. Good for both steep and/or flatter beaches with waves breaking near to, or far from the shore.

This design incorporates MS - 1 technology with traditional skimboard theories.
RESULT: This skimboard has a more traditional looking outline. A wider nose and a flatter rocker create a large planing are great for flat beaches where distance and speed are needed. Also good for waves breaking farther from shore.
